Snow Bunnies

All of the lovely She She ladies just recently took a trip to Breckenridge for our Snow Bunny Retreat, a little post holiday bonding time. Snowboarding, shopping, lounging, wine, laughing, Scrabble and Cranium, wine, hot tubbing, wine, snacking, and more wine! I learned even more about all of these girls and must say I am so lucky to have all of them at She She. Bailie, Laura, Carly, Jenn, and Bree(we missed you) thanks so much for making this a memorable trip!

Tanning Don'ts She She Lounge Nail Salon Fort Collins
I loved Magda in Something About Mary but I don’t want to look like her. I want smooth, glowing and radiant skin. It’s the look of all the beautiful ladies gracing our fave beauty magazines. Unfortunately when the gene pool was mixing me up I was dealt dry, sensitive skin. I naturally have small pores which most people think is great but I have spent my whole life dousing my skin with lotions, potions and magical serums to try to get maximum hydration. It’s a battle I’m constantly trying to win. Add the extremely dry Colorado climate into the mix and well, it’s ugly!

Last weekend I went snowboarding. Before heading out I layered my face with sunscreen and a heavy moisturizer. It was cold and windy out so I wore my neck gaiter to keep my skin hidden from the elements. Despite my efforts my chin peeled for 3 days.

The same battle can occur with people that have oily skin. The outer layers of the skin get flaky and your face can turn into a blemish battlefield. No matter what …

Step Away from the Tweezers Darling

SheShe_Eyebrow_wax_Fort_CollinsThere is a population of ladies out there that love nothing better than to pluck their brows to perfection. Problem is over time what looks like perfection can morph into a hot mess. We can spend endless amounts of time and money on the best makeup, lotions and potions but let’s face it sparse, uneven and misshaped brows can wreck the whole canvas.

My own personal waxing horror stories as a client is what fueled me to want to offer something better to others. At She She we pride ourselves on being Brow Sculptors. We don’t belive in one brow fits all. All brow shapings start with a consult before we even begin to remove hair. Man. Woman. Tween. Over plucked. Overgrown. Discolored. Mutant, misplaced, rogue hairs is what we specialize in. We will wax, tweeze, trim and tint you to brow nirvana. Don’t fret If you are taking retinae, accutane or any products contraindicated to waxing a full tweeze is always an option.

We do recommend …

Glow Getter

SheShe_SusanWhat makes me glow? Friends, fun, inspiration, discovering new beauty products, working out, massages, facials, being surrounded by dynamic women, family, laughter, ripping down the mountain on my snowboard, sunshine….and the newest- owning a business!

It has been quite a road to get to where we are today. She She Nail and Wax Lounge is a culmination of all of my expereinces as a client and technician in the beauty industry. The good, bad and ugly. It’s best that I explain what brought me to today. I started in the beauty therapy industry 10 years ago (so very painful to admit that I didn’t just graduate yesterday). I started out as a massage therapist so passionate and ready to heal the world with my 2 bare hands. I soon realized what a near impossible feat that was going to be. Being the perpetual student that I am I continued to go back to school and add to my skills over the years. I soon was doing massage, skin care, waxing and nails.

I have worked for day spas, salons, wellness centers, chiropractors and hybrids of them all. All of these places helped to …
